No comparison

So yesterday turned out to be an interesting day.

I went to the Claremore Indian hospital. Since I dont have health insurance still, I decided to take advantage of the fact that I'm Cherokee and have my card. At the Indian hospital you can have everything from a routine physician's check-up to a dental teeth cleaning and free pharmacy. Well, the problem is, its first come first serve. So I arrive and hour before they open to get in line. Surprisingly I get through setting up my chart# (a general identification so you can use any of their services) fairly quickly. But the specific kind of treatment I was seeking actually required me to sign up for an appointment. The EARLIEST of which was JULY 3! 'F' that. So I walked out and decided it was a complete waste of time.
When I go home is when it REALLY gets interesting.

Its starts to snow some and soon its covered the ground and starts getting cold outside. I'm doing a little house work and suddenly the power goes off. I go into a panic thinking that maybe the snow storm somehow made someone crash into a pole or something. Then remembering that some people in this part of the state were without power for nearly two weeks and knowing that the news predicted the temp was supposed to be in the teens that night, I REALLY START TO PANIC!

Then in the very very back of my mind I remember my husband telling me that in order to transfer the electric into our name I was supposed to drive 40 minutes to the po-dunk electric company's office in COLLINSVILLE to give a deposit. It had completely left my mind. This was weeks ago before the last ice storm. OH GOD! I then proceed to chew the heck out of the company on my cell. "WHO IN THE HECK TURNS OFF SOMEONE'S POWER IN THE MIDDLE OF A SNOW STORM? WHAT KIND OF A PERSON/PEOPLE ARE THAT COLD-HEARTED AND DEMENTED ENOUGH NOT TO CONTACT THE PEOPLE EITHER BY MAIL OR PHONE AND TELL THEM THEY NEED TO GIVE A DEPOSIT SOON OR SOMETHING!?" It was just rediculous.
So, I then proceed to drive nearly an hour (cause of the road conditions) in the middle of a snow storm, all the way to their office just to give a deposit.

I'm just glad that Joe was at work and couldn't deal with this or I'm afraid someone over there would be dead. Or at the least deaf and delirious.

VERTIGRIS VALLEY ELECTRIC AND BASLER REAL ESTATE.....watch your backs.
A-holes.

On another note...Joe seems to really want to get this:
