Bothered

I'm frustrated with the fact that girls and boys have these stupid gender roles we feel we must abide to. That boys must be the macho alpha male type, and girl the submissive, truly girly female. Whats up with that crap?

And relationships have similar stereotypical places:
The male must be the laid back initiator of romance and eventual heartbreaker/cheater. The girl has to be the overbearing nurturer and eventual jealous/paranoid ruiner.

If the relationship seems to be perfect, we being human naturally figure that something is wrong and create a drama. What is with people and DRAMA?

I think the only reason all of my relationships have failed is cause the other party didn't experience enough drama with me for it to be fullfilling. i.e. I get the reputation of being an ice queen/ frigid bitch cause they dont feel I care enough to be jealous or clingy or WHATEVER!

If you haven't seen the movie CLOSER you need to check that out. Its very depressing but so dang true, you might end up reevalutating your relationships and changing them for the better.

All in all, I am tired of boys. Hell, I'm tired of girls too. Can't we all just get along and have fun?

I have no clue who all exactly is coming on the trip, cause PEOPLE KEEP CHANGING THEIR MINDS DAILY!!!
But,
I'm going on this $&#*Q^&*@ camping trip, and im going to have a great time, even if i have to do it alone.

There is nothing like the warm sun on your back, while you sit on a boat with the slow rocking, and the pleasant sound of the waves splashing the sides, as you sip your favorite beverage, smell the sweet sunscreen mixed in with the aroma of barbeque, with a couple of your closests friends, with all the worries of the world miles away.....

(*does whole above speech, Braveheart style while riding around on horse/motorboat with face painted/colored sunscreen, wearing kilt/new white bikini*)

NOW, WHOS WITH ME!?!?!

Personally, I think a lot of these "roles" are created American stereotypes that a lot of people feel they should conform to. American society preaches individualism to us from day one, but when push comes to shove, those who don't conform are outcast.

First of all, I'm sorry to have had to remove the last comment...because I am a big advocate of free speech and you have every right to hate my guts for reasons unbeknownst to me. But Whatever I have done to you, you are just sinking to a level that is hypocritical. If you claim to be all high and mighty then how can you say the things you previously wrote and still maintain your dignity. I know, its because you hide behind anonymity. If you dont have enough of a life to move on and grow up, then feel free to dwell on all of my posts and comment with nasty remarks. Whatever helps you sleep at night. But I will continue to delete them, and apologize to everyone for their offensive nature. Shame on you.

Sorry a million times over that I can't go on that trip this weekend. Just really bad timing for me. Trust me, it is my "Dad's" lawn and it most certainly is not dead. He would be pretty upset with me if he came home to a lawn that hadn't been mowed in 2 & 1/2 weeks. But the real overriding factor is the test I have to study for. When I only have two tests making up about about 80% of my grade, I really need to concentrate on those.

Plus you gave off the impression that you were too particularly thrilled with people from Texas anyhow. That doesn't give me much of an incentive for me to go, even though I really want to. Plus Texas really is better than Oklahoma in terms of States, I think we can all admit to that. There is just plain more things to do and see there.

I'm also sorry that you feel that Drama is a necessary evil in all relationships. I think the only reason that drama comes up is the fact that the two people didn't know enough about each other before deciding on being in a relationship. As a result, Drama is bound to occur.

Sorry you are tired of boys, and i'm not sure that it is fair to pin the heartbreaker/cheater tag on each and every one of us. Sometimes girls can be way more brutal to guys than you know.

Again, sorry I can't make it on the trip. Hopefully you can get a bunch of people to go and it not just you. Give me a yell when you get back and we'll hang out some time. Later

The "roles" are not just created by Americans but people all around the world. Every country has their roles, look at Iran, Iraq, and all those other places.
As for whoever is making nasty comments, if I EVER find out who you are, you be sure to run and hide. You do not even start with me or my best friend/sister. You obviously have no way to back it up, otherwise you would put your name up. You are such a coward to post anonymously. Either put your name up and justify your comments or get a life.

The "submissive" thing is overrated. Personally, I'd like to see both partners balanced; I think that's how it should be. The man shouldn't be domineering in any way, though a strong and confident (but gentle and fair) leader when necessary. The girl shouldn't expect to just "go along for the ride," either. She should be an equal partner, just as much an initiator as the guy, and a strong and consistent communicator within the relationship. Relationships worldwide would benefit if girls acted more like guys and guys more like girls!

Oh, and I'm going Camping! I'm going Camping! Nana nana boo boo! I'm going Camping! :D
