Walt Whitman 'Rocks my World!'

I stole that line from the infamous Robin. I was just reading, not Hawthorne like I was supposed to, and flipped to the poetry section of the book- poetry being my favorite literature form- and read this really racy Whitman poem. "...I pensive, love-flesh tremulous aching,..." Yeah, uh you better check the rest of it out for yourself. From Pent-up Aching Rivers is the title. Wow, I'm still blushing...

All work, and much play make Melody a dull girl...

So last night was the first annual Mon. Poker Night. We hosted this little shindig and I broke in my new poker table. All thats left is an investment in some really nice clay poker chips and I'm set. It was fun, but much to my dismay I didn't win. Didn't even come close actually. The one hand I had that was decent I folded after the flop...didn't want to chase cards. I ended up having a flush to the ace. CRAP! One other annoying thing comes to mind. The fact that friends of friends suddenly show up at our apartment. People I have never met, and people that I was not asked permission to come over. But eh, we had a grand ole' time. Except for the fact that I didn't sleep practically at all.
And now I'm at work staring complacently out the windows...doing the lack of sleep characteristic 'head bob'. Grrr, I wish I was at home in my warm little bed like the rest of the 7301 gang. Anyway, I am supposed to be reading some Hawthorne short stories...but anyone that has read Hawthorne knows that he is anything but short winded. I laugh at the fact that they call those stories short! HAHA. /sooo tired/ What are everyone's plans for the labor day vacation? I have three choices: Go with rents way far away on a campout and canoe, stay in Norman and party with the 211, or go see Casey in Arkansas. Choices, Choices...

Randy's Cigar Posted by Hello

"Weekends are never long enough..."

So this weekend my cuz come down from OSU. She is like my sister in so many ways. I think we connect on a higher level that most of my closest friends and immediate family, which is odd considering we usually only see each other about 2 times a year. I very discretely implanted subconscious hints that OU is a better school for her. Well, plus the fact that I'm here! Jeez, thats reason enough for anyone to go here. Anyway the weekend consisted of outrageously uninhibited fun. Phil came down too, so we hit up some parties. Melody, much to my own and other people's disappointment does not remember much of the night. Except for Gerard putting out my cigar that I have no clue where I got, and getting so upset I annoyingly cried over the fact that Sarah puked in my sink! Im sorry everyone! *Note special thanks to Randall that kinda started the whole cigar thing (sarcasm implied)*
