1st Anniversary

This is a comment I stole from one of my high school friends' blog, the day after my wedding. It meant so much to me at the time, I wanted to keep it.

"I attended a wedding tonight of a dear old friend. I heard the words spoken again on how marriage is the extinguishing of each individuals light in favor of a unified light, living together for each other and no longer apart. I did not understand the literal representation of this idea until I talked to my friend after the ceremony and found her matured into an adult. In the matter of a day, she had grown up. No longer a youthful individual, but an adult living her life. The life of her adulthood."

Thanks Josh.

A look back:

The first year for Joe and I has definitely not been easy. Our first apartment in Norman was 500 square feet, one bed one bath, and couldn't even hold all our furniture and belongings, especially after Joe moved in after the wedding.
The honeymoon was amazing, I had never been anywhere. So to leave the country for the first time and go somewhere so beautiful with the man you love made this trip amazing.

Joe and I had school and work, this made for a difficult start to the marriage, and financially it was straining. Then Joe graduated and got a job and we moved into our first house and got our first car, Made an addition to the family, Evey. And the first year is over. That quick. For our anniversary on friday we had tickets to see CCR. Then I took off work on saturday and we went to the lake. Then we came home, got dressed up, and Joe took me to a steak dinner. Then the traditional eating of the leftover cake and champagne.

Here's to many more years.

Wreck

So, I got in my first accident on thursday, and I'm just now feeling the effects.

I was driving down a two lane highway on my way into town to buy groceries. I was going to make a left hand turn onto a side street, and started to slow and turned on my signal. Then, just as I'm about halfway into the turn and barely in the next lane i get sideswiped and a car goes into the ditch ahead of me. SCARED ME TO DEATH, since there was no oncoming traffic, and the car seemed to come out of NOWHERE. I was going slow enough to pull somewhat controllably into the ditch after the turn. So, aparently this is what happened:

I'm minding my own business, driving the speed limit, slowing for a turn, with my blinker on. Then a girl, probably speeding, comes up behind me fast and decides to pass me. (I think she was on a cell phone, cause she was on it when she stepped out of the car) She doesn't notice my brake lights or signal and crashes into the side of me then into the ditch. She jumps out of the car and the first words out of her mouth are "Where was your blinkER!"
I say "It was on!" *bitch*( didn't say that, but thought about it)
THen when we hear sirens she asks if i'm okay. Which physically is true, but i'm freaked out.

The ambulance really wants to take me to the hospital, cause there was a mark from my seatbelt, and they think that I could have done something to my collar bone. But I'm too freaked out for that, and I deny it. She tells me I'm gonna have whiplash and be sore the next day, they take my vitals, and leave.

The kicker is that the cops give us both tickets!

WHat in the hell did i do wrong? "Improper Movement from Direct Course" was what he wrote me up for. Cause when she tells the officer that she didn't see brake lights or a turn signal, he checks my car and sure enough they aren't working. I had no idea they weren't working, and frankly i'm not convinced that they just didn't stop working after she creamed me in her POS.

So the officer only gives her a ticket for passing within 150 feet or something within an intersection, not for reckless driving or anything! The whole time he was oggling her, and giving her special treatment, and I find out she's a hooters girl.

So she thinks its my fault and starts taking a bunch of pictures of her POS which was already banged up, and probably wasn't worth $300 to begin with. Needless to say she messed with the wrong family. Seeing as my dad is an officer, and Joe's dad is a US attorney. If she starts something it will end with me.

GRRR!
