INTERVIEW FROM HELL

Interviews are a nerve-racking thing to most people, but most of the interviews i've had so far have been a handshake and a welcome to the job. BUT THIS ONE WAS DIFFERENT.

I guess they need to be picky when hiring people for a bank, but jeez, my nerves are still on end. IT WAS THE INTERVIEW FROM HELL. The one that you've been told about but never thought you would experience. Well this supersedes that.
THE STORY
Its starts off with the scheduling of when its going to take place, I call up the agency and tell them i received the email, and needed to schedule my interview. They then pushed the bombshell on me that it was a phone interview, since the building isn't finished for the new bank yet.

Now i think this is a piece of cake, not only do i not need to dress up, but there will be no one staring you down and analyzing you....then I realize, I hate talking on the phone. Anyone who knows me, knows i am the most awkward phone talker in the world. Crap.

As 2:00 rolls past, the scheduled time, i'm thinking they gave me the stiff. Considering its not like you can show up somewhere and impress them with your punctuality this is already off to a bad start. 2:10. I get the call. She seems nice enough, then informs me that the following questions were just to get to know me better, not a test. NOT A TEST MY A$$! The next 50 minutes, no joke, 50 MINUTES were full of those open ended terrifing questions like: "how do you respond to pressure, and name an instance in which you were put under pressure, what it was, and how you resolved and dealt with it." Jeez, can you repeat the question, i freaking forgot what it was initially about by the time she finished. After about 40 more questions I somehow manage to maybe 'successfully' answer- 'successfully' meaning I didn't freeze and make an awkward silence- she procedes to start a math exam. "In your head answer these problems as quickly as possible please..." that sweet voice now sounding like a demon.

8 + 2 i laugh a little to myself...this isn't so bad....
14 + 19 oh okay ....
27 + 45 uh jeez....
211 + 439 $hit.
2103 + 1157 oh dear god, are you serious?!?

I started to picture her looking something like this:

maybe thats why it was a phone interview....

I dont really remember the rest of what she had to say about the job requirements, i was still kinda working on that last problem in my head....

Seems that shes going to call the bank in moore and set up another interview... all i wanted to do was ask if that last part was really part of the normal interview, and maybe what the last answer was....

New Look

In honor of the beginning of my new life, I made a few changes.

I cut my hair, and got a little nose piercing (since they said my tongue was too short for a tongue ring :( and i didn't want to leave empty handed.)

Before:

(It feels like I lost 10 pounds, and joes happy that it doesn't take me an hour anymore to dry and straighten my hair.)

YAY!

Marriage is tough

I didn't think it was going to be a walk in the park, but I certainly was unprepared for all the things that follow marriage.

We recently filled out our FAFSAs. We thought it was going to be really surprising how much aid we were going to get, seeing as we are now independent. But we suddenly have to fill out all these forms about tax history, and whatnot for the school. Joe and I are sure they are trying to screw us over.

Getting my named changed on my bank accounts, drivers license, social security card, cherokee nation card, credit cards, student id and student accounts was a serious deal.

All the insurance changes, the car, the medical, all so expensive.

Needing a bigger apartment for the two of us and all the stuff we have accumulated on our own.

All add up to BIG BUCKS WE DONT HAVE. *whew*
At least our relationship is strong and sincere, i can see why some people fail at it.
