Soccer boys are cocky jacka$$es

So we finally got out to the fields today, since the weather is finally nice again. And I have to say, I had just about forgotten how cocky male soccer players can be. Considering my entire class has about 4 girls in it, and about 30-40 boys, it was intimidating. One guy made a sexist comment about girls not being able to play soccer, and I about started an all out rumble. I should have kicked him in the nuts, or turned him in for sexual harrassment, but since i'm too nice all that i remember replying with was a "HEY!" Him:1 Melody:0. I dont think he expected any of the girls to hear. I have a feeling I have a long way to go to earn the respect of the guys. Its funny how we are in the 21st century and women still encounter sexism in our everyday lives.
The coach sucks too, several of the people in the class have never even played soccer before. So we should be going over fundamentals or doing drills or something, but no, he sets them on the sidelines and lets them watch us scrimage for an hour and 40 minutes. During our water break I noticed one girl I had talked to at the first class, and walked over to make small talk.(considering she was one of few without a penis) She mentioned wanting to maybe drop the class cause she didn't want to sit in the grass watching us play the whole class time. So I took a couple of the beginners aside to teach a few fundamentals, pass a bit, and tell them a few rules of the game. It was ridiculous that I was doing the teachers job, cause he was too busy scrimaging with the rest of the 'ALL STATErs'! Hopefully I made a few friends and encouraged some people to stay.

Today was exhausting

I woke up at 7:50 this morning, and realized it was entirely too bright outside for that early in the morning. It had snowed, which made exiting the warmth of the covers that much more hard. After stumbling into the bathroom and puting on my suit, I bundled on three more layers of clothes and headed to the pool. Half of the class was absent, and the remainder decided it would be fun to swim relay races. I'm not feeling this cause they actually have on the air conditioner in the room, and I'm not ready to jump in the water. I'm exhausted after the races, all of which me and my partner lost, because we are swimming free style and I suck at freestyle. (If it were the breast stroke or back stroke I would kick butt.) Get home, take a shower, and pretty much go straight to soccer. So I've worked out twice today! Then I had to do a presentation right after soccer class and dress business casual. Grr to wearing uncomfortable clothing. Now I'm in the library buying time before my next class. Which goes until 6:30. And even perhaps after that I will go tanning for my Mexico honeymoon, and meet Laura and Kelly for dinner and a Movie (not just any movie, V for Vendetta again) with Joe and I. *whew*

V for Vendetta = A for Awesome

For our 6 month anniversary we ended up going to see 'V for Vendetta' and then going to Outback Steakhouse. I have to say that the movie is worth multiple visits to the theater. Joe and I both got out of the showing and wanted to go back in and watch again. It was artistic, action-filled, and thought provoking. I admit I was a little weary after seeing the previews, that it was going to be really cheesy. But, the whole premise was amazing. I don't want to ruin it for anyone, so I will leave it at that. GO SEE IT.

Big Day

Our 6 month anniversary is coming up tomorrow. I dont know exactly what we have planned, but I'm sure it will be special. It seems like we have been together a lot longer than that. We got back our engagement pics.

They turned out great, and this week I have been working on getting out our invitations. That is a FULL TIME JOB! I have literally been working non-stop about 8 hours a day on those things. All the calligraphy and the labeling and placement of like three different envelopes. Its about to drive me crazy. All this stupid ettiquette stuff that no one is going to notice or appreciate anyway! Grr. Just know people that when you get an invitation, that particular one probably took about 30 minutes to make. Whatever. HAPPY ST. PATRICKS DAY!
